VECU was established in 1957 as a simple savings and loan service for employees of Vickers, Inc. Established as a way to help its members gain the financial success that they desired, VECU continues to strive toward that goal by offering the products and services each member needs to help attain that goal. VECU is a not – for – profit financial cooperative owned by the members. Profits are returned to the membership in the form of higher dividends, lower loan rates, fewer and lower fees, and with expanded and improved products and services. VECU is governed by the members/owners through a member – elected Board of Directors. Through sound management, innovative benefits, and the members’ respect and loyalty, VECU has not lost sight of the reason for our existence – service to our members!
In the last few years, our membership has expanded. We changed our name to better describe ALL of our membership - Valued.
We offer credit union services to several employee groups - Eaton Aerospace/Vickers Fluid Power, L-3 Communications/Vertex (formerly Raytheon), A T & T Wireless/Suncom Communications, Jackson Truck and Trailer/Jackson Trailer and Equipment, Don Evans Attorney - at - Law, Jenkins Realty, Alpha K - 9 Training, Mississippi Credit Union Association, Transportation Security Administration, and Connections Plus, Inc. We also have the underserved community of Madison County. We are proud to announce that we now offer serves to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Leake County and the census tracts of 020100, 020200, and 020500 in Scott County.
